Organizing

I have been privileged to organize alongside incredibly creative and compassionate people and use art, design, and creativity for social good.

I was the sole graphics designer for Oakland grassroots community project Good Good Eatz. Good Good Eatz was founded by community members and organizers Tommy Wong and Trinh Banh at the beginning of the pandemic. From Chinatown to Old Oakland, Eastlake, Fruitvale and the new Black Cultural Zone, Good Good Eatz’s goals were to connect ethnic districts throughout Oakland through food and culture and to support small BIPOC businesses through these challenging times. I created and designed social media graphics and more for Good Good Eatz.

I designed multiple campaigns, including their World Central Kitchen campaign and their Lunar New Year Campaign. Some of my social media graphic designs are to the left.

During the summer of 2020, Good Good Eatz helped Chinatown restaurants supply thousands of free meals to Chinatown and the greater Oakland community, providing income to local businesses and food for our neighbors in need.

Over 17 restaurants were supported and more than 110,000 free meals were served, all while generating over 1 million dollars in revenue for local Chinatown small businesses.

I designed bilingual signage and posters for the program as well as social media graphics.

Good Good Eatz is currently on hiatus. In the mean time, I’ve been organizing at Cut Fruit Collective! I am the Creative Director for Cut Fruit Collective. In addition to designing and providing creative leadership, I have created, produced and led a number of fundraising campaigns at Cut Fruit Collective.
